REPORTS FOR THIS ADDRESS. MET WESTLEY
PINEIRO (OWNER REPRESENTATIVE) ONSITE TO
MAKE INSPECTION. AS REPORTED A STORM
(TORNADO?) HAS DAMAGED THIS HOME. THIS
IS A 2 STORY LOG STRUCTURE SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE. THE FRONT PORCH ROOF HAS BEEN
DAMAGED AND PARTIALLY REMOVED ON THE
NORTWEST SIDE OF THE HOME. REMOVAL OF
THIS SECTION OPF PORCH ROOF HAS DAMAGED
THE HOUSE PROPER LEAVING EXPOSED FRAMING
AND EXPOSURE TO THE EXTERIOR
ENVIRONMENT. THERE IS QUESTIONABLE
DAMAGE TO THE LOG CONSTRUCTED EXTERIOR
WALL ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE HOME WHERE
THIS PORCH ROOF WAS ATTACHED. FULL
INSPECTION WAS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO THIS
AREA BEING COVERED BY A TARP. INTERIOR
INSPECTION SHOWS POSSIBLE SHIFTING OF
THE LOG CONSTRUCTED EXTERIOR WALL. MOST
CONCERNING IS THE NORTH WALL OF THE
HOME. THIS LOG CONSTRUCTED EXTERIOR WALL
EXTENDS THE FULL TWO STORIES OF THE
STRUCTURE AND SHOWS SIGN OF THE WALL
BOWING TO THE EXTERIOR APPROXIMATELY 2"
AT THE SECOND FLOOR LEVEL. A WINDOW ON
THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE HOME HAS SHATTERED
GLASS ON THE FLOOR AND ALL PANES OF
GLASS ARE MISSING. MY SPECULATION IS
THAT THIS WINDOW BLEW OUT AND RESULTED
IN THE HOME BEING PRESSURIZED RESULTING
IN THE NORTH WALL BEING DISPLACED TO THE
EXTERIOR. AN ENGINEER WILL NEED TO
DESIGN REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THIS
NORTH WALL TO ENSURE STRUCTURAL
STABILITY IF RECONSTRUCTION IS DESIRED.
ENGINEERED PLANS FOR
REPLACEMENT/REENFORCEMENT OF THIS NORTH
WALL, RECONSTRUCTION OF THE PORCH ROOF,
AND POSSIBLE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF THE
WEST WALL, WHERE THE PORCH ROOF WAS
REMOVED, WILL BE REQUIRED IF REPAIRS ARE
ATTEMPTED.
ALTHOUGH THE HOME HAS SUFFERED WATER
INTRUSION DAMAGE TO MORE THAN 50% OF THE
FLOOR AREA STRUCTURAL REPAIRS DO NOT
MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBSTANTIAL
STRUCTURAL ALTERATION DUE TO THE DAMAGED
AREAS OF STRUCTURAL SUPPORT DOES NOT
SUPPORT MORE THAN 30% OF THE TOTAL ROOF
AND FLOOR LOADS. THIS WILL BE CONSIDERED
A LEVEL 2 ALTERATION PER FLORIDA
BUILDING CODE EXISTING BUILDING. AT THIS
TIME THE HOME IS UNINHABITABLE UNTIL
THESE ENGINEERED REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED.

FOR THEIR INFORMATION WITH REQUEST TO
CALL THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
(863-402-6643) AND ARRANGE TIME FOR
INSPECTION TO DETERMINE STATUS OF THIS
STRUCTURE. I HAVE ATTACHED CONFLICTING
ENGINEERS REPORTS.
