APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN CONSTRUCTION
WORKERS, AND OBSERVED SEVERAL NEW
STRUCTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION. TO DATE,
WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION FROM PROPERTY OWNERS, TO
INCLUDE ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTS, BUILDING
PERMITS, PLANS, ETC. LEFT PHONE NUMBER
WITH ALEX, ONE OF THE WORKERS ON SITE,
AND ASKED THAT COLLEEN OR PAUL GIVE ME A

CITATION WAS ONLY INTENDED FOR OPENING A
LINE OF COMMUNICATION, AND WE ARE IN
SUPPORT OF THEIR OVERALL PROJECT; WE
JUST NEED TO MAKE SURE PROPER
DOCUMENTATION/PERMITS ARE IN PLACE.
ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT WAS DONE BY "BSM IN
OKEECHOBEE" PER MR. AND MRS. PAUL-HUS.
WILL GET COPY OF REPORT AND MAPPED OUT
WETLANDS TO MELONY/PLANNING. NEXT STEP
WILL BE SITE PLAN REVIEW THROUGH
DENA/ENGINEERING. STAFF ALSO ADVISED TO
CONTACT SFWMD AND FDEP REGARDING
DRAINAGE AND THE MAN-MADE POND
(ECO-POOL). ONCE SITE PLAN PROCESS HAS
BEEN COMPLETED/APPROVED, BUILDING
PERMITS WILL FOLLOW. ALL HABITABLE
STRUCTURES MUST OBTAIN A PERMIT (CABINS,
KITCHENS, OFFICE SPACE, BATHROOMS, ETC),
BUT AG/NON-RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES ARE
EXEMPT UNDER AG PROVISIONS (IE, POLE
BARN, FENCE, ETC). PLANS SHOULD BE
EASILY OBTAINED THROUGH THE PRE-FAB
COMPANY "JAMAICA COTTAGE SHOP". MR. AND
MRS. PAUL-HUS MENTIONED THEY WERE USING
BARAR CONTRACTING AS THEIR GENERAL
CONTRACTOR FOR THE PROJECT.
LEAH ALSO MENTIONED SEVERAL RESOURCES WE
HAVE IN-HOUSE THAT MAY BE HELPFUL IN
THEIR VENTURES (TOURISM AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT).
