SHAUN@GDCFLORIDA.COM. THIS IS A CBS SFR
WITH WOOD TRUSS ROOF SYSTEM. A LARGE
TREE HAS FALLEN INTO THE STRUCTURE. THE
TREE FELL AGAINST THE EAST WALL OF THE
GARAGE COLLAPSING THE CBS EXTERIOR WALL
AND DAMAGING/DISPLACING 3 TRUSSES AND
ROOF DECKING. COLLAPSE OF THIS WALL ALSO
DAMAGED THE NORTH WALL OF THE ADJACENT
ROOM IN THE HABITABLE AREA OF THE HOME.
THIS ADJACENT ROOM APPEARS TO BE AN
ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE. THE
CBS WALL BETWEEN THIS ADDITION AND THE
ORIGINAL STRUCTURE IS COVERED WITH WOOD
SIDING AND IT IS UNDETERMINED IF THIS
CBS WALL HAS ALSO BEEN COMPROMISED
ALTHOUGH THE WALL AND CEILING IN THE
BEDROOM ON THE SOUTH END OF THE HOME
WHERE THIS WALL ABUTS SHOWS DAMAGE AND
SIGNS OF DEFLECTION. THE LIVING ROOM
DIRECTLY INTERIOR OF THE ADDITION HAS A
COMPOSITE ROOF SYSTEM SUPPORTED BY
EXPOSED WOOD BEAMS. THIS COMPOSITE ROOF
HAS LARGE STAINS FROM WATER INTRUSION.
EITHER THE ADDED WEIGHT OF THE WATER
SOAKED COMPOSITE PANELS OR POSSIBLY
DEFLECTION OF THE CBS BEARING WALL HAS
CAUSED THE SUPPORT BEAMS TO SHOW SIGNS
OF SEPERATION AT THE RIDGE BEAM. I DEEM
THIS STRUCTURE AS UNINHABITABLE AND
UNSAFE FOR HUMAN OCCUPANCY UNTIL FULL
INSPECTOION AND REPORT OF STRUCTURAL
STABILITY BY A FLORIDA LICENSED
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER IS PERFORMED AND
SUBMITTED TO MY OFFICE. ONCE REPORT IS
SUBMITTED DETERMINATION OF LEVEL OF
REPAIR OR ALTERATION WILL BE DETERMINED.
