11-16-201705:35 PMINITIAL INSPECTIONMADE SITE VISIT. NO ONE ANSWERED THE
DOOR. THIS IS AN OLDER MODEL MOBILE HOME
THAT HAS SUFFERED COSMETIC DAMAGE DUE TO
HURRICANE. THE VINYL SIDING HAS BLOWN
OFF IN LARGE SECTION ON THE SOUTH SIDE.
TWO PIECES OF SIDING HAVE ALSO BLOWN OFF
AT THE TOP OF THE GABLE ON THE EAST
SIDE. ON THE WEST SIDE THE SIDING IS
LOOSE AT THE SIDING LAPS OF A COUPLE OF
PIECES. A PORTION OF THE ROOF COVERING
HAS BLOWN OFF OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE
STRUCTURE. METAL ROOF PANELS HAVE BEEN
INSTALLED OVER PORTIONS OF THE ROOF AND
THE EXPOSED SOUTH EXTERIOR WALL. THE
DAMAGED ROOF IS A VIOLATION OF SHC
SECTION 12.19.305 (C) AND THE EXTERIOR
WALL EXPOSURE IS A VIOLATION OF SHC
SECTION 12.19.305 (B). THESE AREAS NEED
TO BE REPAIRED TO NOT ADMIT WATER
INTRUSION TO PREVENT POSSIBLE STRUCTURAL
DAMAGE TO THE MOBILE UNIT. THE VINYL
SIDING REPAIR DOES NOT REQUIRE
PERMITTING AND THE ROOF REPAIR DOES NOT
MEET STANDARD FOR PERMITTING EITHER.
HOWEVER IF ROOF IS REPLACED RATHER THAN
BEING REPAIRED, REPLACEMENT WILL REQUIRE
PERMITTING. HOME DOES APPEAR TO BE
OCCUPIED. I WILL SEND A COPY OF THIS
REPORT INFORMING OF NEEDED REPAIRS AND
REQUEST FOR CALL TO REINSPECT WHEN
REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED TO CLOSE CASE.
