THIS IS A DOUBLEWIDE MOBILE HOME THAT
HAS SUFFERED SIGNIFICANT STORM DAMAGE.
THE HURRICANE BLEW OFF @ 18' OF THE
ALUMINUM CARPORT ROOF. IT ALSO BLEW OFF
SHINGLES ON LARGE PORTIONS OF THE EAST
SIDE ROOF SECTION OF THE MOBILE HOME.
SHINGLES ARE ALSO MISSING ON THE WEST
SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE. ONE WINDOW HAS
SHATTERED GLASS FROM THE STORM.
SUBSEQUENT WATER INTRUSION FROM THE
SHINGLES BEING REMOVED CAUSED THE
CEILINGS IN THE FRONT LIVING ROOM, THE
DINING ROOM AREA AND THE BACK BEDROOM
AREA TO COLLAPSE. THERE ARE ALSO THREE
TRUSSES THAT HAVE BROKEN AND THEY WILL
NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THE PLYWOOD PLATES
ON THE CONNECTION POINT OF THESE TRUSSES
APPARENTLY GOT WET AND FAILED. THE
TRUSSES ARE STILL IN PLACE BUT THE
BOTTOM CORD IS SAGGING. REATTACHMENT OF
BOTTOM CORD WITH NEW TRUSS PLATES IS
NEEDED. WATER INTRUSION ALSO ALLOWED THE
CARPET TO GET WET IN THE DINING ROOM AND
BEDROOM AREAS. THE CARPET HAS BEEN
REMOVED FROM THESE AREAS AND SUB-FLOOR
APPEARS UNHARMED. MOBILE HOME IS
STRUCTURALLY SOUND BUT WITH EXTENT OF
REPAIR AREAS AND DIRT AND DEBRIS FROM
OPEN CEILINGS I WOULD DECLARE HOME AS
UNFIT FOR HABITATION UNTIL REPAIRS CAN
BE MADE.
