THAT WAS BUILT THAT LEAKS AND CONTRACTOR HAS NOT
CORRECTED ISSUES.

SO AND TOOK APPLICATION WITH HIM. I THEN
WENT TO SEE THE OWNERS AND EXPLAINED
THAT AS HOMEOWNER PERMITTEE THEY WERE
THE RESPONSIBLE "CONTRACTOR" FOR THIS
PROJECT. AS CONTRACTOR THEY WERE
RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTION OF ISSUES
WITH THE PROJECT. WITH THIS THE CASE I
WILL CLOSE CASE.

OWNER/COMPLAINTANT. THIS PROJECT
CONSISTS OF AN ALUMINUM STRUCTURAL ROOF
SYSTEM INSTALLED WITH ALUMINUM POSTS AND
BEAMS. PERMIT #16060143 WAS ISSUED AS A
HOMEOWNER PERMIT. HOMEOWNER THEN HAD MR.
NATE JPNES CONSTRUCT PORCH ROOF. MR.
JONES HOLDS A HANDYPERSON LICENSE
#HM0172. CONSTRUCTION OF THE PORCH ROOF
IS CODE COMPLIANT AND SUFFERED NO DAMAGE
FROM HURRICANE IRMA ALTHOUGH HAVING AN
EAST EXPOSURE WHICH WAS MOST SUSCEPTIBLE
TO WIND DAMAGE. COMPLAINT IS NOT WITH
THE OVERALL CONSTRUCTION BUT WITH THE
FLASHING OF THE NEW ROOF TO THE EXISTING
HOME. LEAKS CONTINUED AND MR. JONES
ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT. OWNER THEN HAD A
RUBBER MEMBRANE ROOF INSTALLED OVER THE
ALUMINUM ROOF WHICH EXTENDS UNDER THE
SHINGLED ROOF OF THE HOME PROPER. THIS
HAS ELIMINATED THE LEAKS. COMPLAINTANT
WISHES MR. JONES TO REFUND COST OF THE
MEMBRANE ROOF AND ATTORNEY FEES TOTALING
$2,100.00. I EXPLAINED THAT MY BOARD MAY
HAVE ISSUES WITH THEIR HIRING AN
UNQUALIFIED CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM WORK
THEY PERMITTED. THEY WERE ADAMANT THAT
THEY WOULD PERSUE WITH CIVIL CASE
THROUGH SMALL CLAIMS COURT. I WILL
CONTACT MR. JONES TO ATTEMPT RESOLUTION.
