COMPLAINT ABOUT HUGE TREE IN EASEMENT THAT IS
BROKEN AND COULD FALL ON POWER LINE ETC., REPORTED
IT TO GLADES ELECTRIC.. NEIGHBORS FENCE FELL
DURING STORM AND REBUILT IT AND IS NOT TO CODE

HE HAD MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS.
1. NEIGHBOR WAS INSTALLING A FENCE
WITHOUT A PERMIT. THE NEIGHBOR WAS
REPAIRING HIS FENCE THAT WAS DAMAGED
FROM THE HURRICANE. I EXPLAINED THAT
THIS REPAIR DOES NOT REQUIRE PERMITTING.
HE THEN COMPLAINED THAT WORK WAS NOT TO
CODE. I EXPLAINED THAT THERE IS NO CODE
REFERENCE FOR FENCE INSTALLATION.
2. MR. KOCH COMPLAINED ABOUT A LARGE
TREE LIMB BROKEN AND HANGING IN THE TREE
AT THE REAR OF HIS PROPERTY. THIS TREE
IS IN THE EASEMENT OF HIS PROPERTY BUT
WOULD STILL BE CONSIDERED AS ON HIS
PROPERTY. MR. KOCH POINTED OUT THE OTHER
WORK HE HAD DONE TO REMOVE TREE DEBRIS
FROM HIS PROPERTY AND SAID HE HAD CALLED
GLADES ELECTRIC TO REMOVE THE BRANCH. I
SUGGESTED THAT HE HIRE A TREE SURGEON
CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE THE BRANCH IF THE
POWER COMPANY DID NOT RESPOND.
3. MR. KOCH THEN COMPLAINED ABOUT THE
ABANDONED MOBILE HOME TO HIS EAST. HE
SUGGESTED THAT THE HOME BE CONDEMNED. HE
HAS COMPLAINED NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT HIGH
GRASS AND NOW THE PREMISES ARE STREWN
WITH STORM DEBRIS. A LIMB BROKE FROM A
TREE AND DISDODGED THE TELIVISION
ANTENEA WHICH IS LEANING AGAINST
BRANCHES OF ANOTHER TREE. I DID EXTERIOR
INSPECTION OF THE HOME AND OBSERVED NO
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE AND EXPLAINED THAT I
COULD NOT CONDEMN THE STRUCTURE DUE TO
LACK OF STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. MR. KOCH THEN
SUGGESTED THAT THE INTERIOR WOULD HAVE
TO BE UNINHABITABLE DUE TO LACK OF
MAINTENANCE FOR YEARS OF ABANDONEMENT. I
EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD HAVE NO RIGHT OF
ENTRY TO DO INTERIOR INSPECTION WITHOUT
DUE CAUSE WHICH WOULD CONSIST OF
STRUCTURAL DEFICIENCIES, WHICH ARE NOT
PRESENT.
4. MR. KOCH THEN COMPLAINED ABOUT THE
NEIGHBOR ACROSS THE STREET SAYING THAT
THEY HAD DONE BRICK WORK, ADDED A
CHIMNEY AND A CARPORT WITHOUT
PERMITTING. I ASKED WHEN THIS WORK MIGHT
HAVE OCCURRED AND HE INDICATED THAT IT
WAS DONE WHEN HOME WAS INSTALLED.
INSTALLATION OF THIS MOBILE HAS BEEN
BEFORE OUR RECORDS SHOW. I EXPLAINED
THAT THIS WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND IS
NOT PRUDENT USE OF TAX PAYER MONEY TO
PERSUE AT THIS POINT.
WITH ALL CONCERNS ADDRESSED AND NO
VIOLATIONS FOUND I WILL CLOSE THIS CASE.
