RECEIVED COMPLAINT FROM CONCERENED CITIZEN THAT
THIS BUILDING IS IN VERY BAD CONDITION AND SHOULD
BE CONDEMNED. ITS THE "WATERMELON BUILDING" THERE
IS GRASS/TREES GROWING ON THE ROOF AND LOTS OF
GARBAGE AROUND.

BUILDING WITH STEEL TRUSS AND STEEL ROOF
DECK SYSTEM. BUILDING APPEARS TO BE
ABANDONED. THERE ARE SEVERAL
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS STORED INSIDE OF
BUILDING IN THE WAREHOUSE PORTION BUT
THE OFFICE AREA IS VACANT. A SLIDING
GLASS DOOR IS INSTALLED ON EXTERIOR OF A
GARAGE DOOR ON THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING
WHICH HAS SHATTERED GLASS. THE TEMPERED
GLASS PIECES ARE LYING ON THE GROUND.
THERE ARE WINDOWS ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH
SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE THAT HAVE BROKEN
GLASS ALSO. A BATHROOM ADDITION ON THE
EAST SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE IS OPEN AND
ACCESSIBLE. A SECOND GARAGE DOOR ON THE
FRONT OF THE BUILDING WAS IN THE CLOSED
POSITION BUT WAS NOT LOCKED AND COULD BE
OPENED BY LIFTING THE DOOR. THIS MAKES
THE STRUCTURE OPEN AND ACCESSIBLE TO
PUBLIC. THE STEEL TRUSS SYSTEM APPEARS
TO BE STRUCTURALLY SOUND BUT THE STEEL
ROOF DECKING IS RUSTED AND FALLEN IN THE
NORTHWEST CORNER AND ALL AROUND THE
OVERHANG AREA OF THE BUILDING. INTERIOR
OF THE BUILDING IS RELATIVELY CLEAN AND
NOT CLUTTERED BUT THE PREMISES ARE
LITTERED WITH DEBRIS AND TALL WEEDS.
VEGITATION IS GROWING ON THE ROOF. THIS
WILL PROMOTE DECAY AND RUSTING OF THE
ROOF DECKING EVENTUALLY CAUSING FAILURE.
THE STRUCTURE WILL NEED TO BE SECURED TO
NOT ALLOW ENTRY (LOCK DOORS AND REPAIR
OR BOARD WINDOWS) REPAIR DOORS AND
WINDOWS IN THE BATHROOM ADDITION OR
BOARD UP TO NOT ALLOW ENTRY. THE
PREMISES WILL NEED TO BE CLEANED OF
DEBRIS AND MOWED. REPAIR AND REROOF OF
BUILDING WILL BE NEEDED TO AVOID FURTHER
DETERIORATION OF ROOF STRUCTURE.
