CORPORATION CONCERNING UNSAFE CONDITION
OF STRUCTURE. MADE SITE VISIT AND SPOKE
WITH OWNER. SHE CONFIRMED THAT POOL HAD
BEEN REMOVED RECENTLY AND ALLOWED
INSPECTION OF BACK YARD. INSPECTION
CONFIRMED LARGE DEPRESSION IN YARD AND
WASHOUT FROM UNDER THE CONCRETE PATIO.
MY VISUAL INSPECTION LEAD ME TO BELIEVE
THAT THE PATIO SLAB WAS COMPROMISED BUT
NOT THE FOUNDATION OF THE STRUCTURE
ITSELF. PHONE CONVERSATION WITH
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER JEFFREY FAZLER OF
SDII GLOBAL REVEALED THAT AN INSURANCE
CLAIM HAD LED TO HIS INSPECTION REPORT
AND HE CONFIRMED SETTLING ISSUES WITH
THE HOUSE STRUCTURE. WHILE ONSITE I
ADVISED OWNER THAT FILL WOULD NEED TO BE
ADDED TO STOP WASHOUT AND SAVE THE
CONCRETE PATIO. THERE ARE ALSO SOME TREE
BRANCHES DEPOSITED IN THE DEPRESSION
THAT I ADVISED TO HAVE REMOVED BEFORE
ADDING THE FILL AS THEY WOULD
DETERIORATE AND CAUSE ANOTHER
DEPRESSION. OWNER INDICATED THAT THIS
WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. AFTER
CONFIRMATION WITH STRUCTURAL ENGINEER OF
FOUNDATION MOVEMENT, INVESTIGATION NEEDS
TO BE PERFORMED TO DETERMINE IF
STABILIZATION OF FOUNDATION ELEMENTS
NEEDS TO OCCUR. THERE WAS NO PERMIT
ISSUED FOR THE REMOVAL/DEMOLITION OF THE
POOL AND POOL DECK.
