WAS PERMITTED IN AUGUST OF 2006 AND

PROCEEDED. THE LAST INSPECTION WAS DONE
ON OCTOBER 23, 2006 WHICH WAS A
SHEATHING INSPECTION ON THE EXTERIOR
WALLS. THAT WAS SEVEN AND HALF YEARS
AGO AND NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON THE JOB
SINCE THEN. THE DOORS AND WINDOWS WERE
INSTALLED AND THE BUILDING WAS USED AS A
STORAGE BARN. IT IS FULL OF OLD CLOTHES
AND FURNITURE. THE EXTERIOR SHEATHING
IS STARTING TO COME APART AND THERE IS A
HOLE IN THE ROOF NEAR THE FRONT PORCH.
THE FRONT AND REAR PORCH FLOORS HAVE
NEVER BEEN POURED SO THE ROOF OVER THESE
AREAS IS SUPPORTED BY TEMPORARY POSTS (7
YEARS). THERE IS NO TIE DOWN FOR THE
ROOF TO THE SLAB AND THE TEMPORARY POSTS
ARE STARTING TO BOW AND ROT AT THE
BOTTOM. SECTION 105.4.1.1 & 4.1.2 OF
THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (FBC) ADDRESS
THIS CONDITION. SUMMARIZED IT SAYS THAT
IF A PERMIT EXPIRES BECAUSE OF
ABANDONMENT A NEW PERMIT SHALL BE
OBTAINED BEFORE WORK BEGINS AND SECTION
105.4.1.2 STATES THAT IF A NEW PERMIT IS
NOT OBTAINED WITHIN 180 DAYS FROM THE
TIME THE PERMIT EXPIRES, THE BUILDING
OFFICIAL IS AUTHORIZED TO REQURE THAT
ANY WORK WHICH WAS STARTED, BE REMOVED
FROM THE SITE DUE TO THE LENGTHY TIME
