COUNTY, FLORIDA. THE RESPONDENTS WERE
NOT IN ATTENDANCE. THE PETITIONER,
HIGHLANDS COUNTY, WAS REPRESENTED BY
ZONING SUPERVISOR LINDA CONRAD. ZONING
SUPERVISOR LINDA CONRAD TESTIFIED THAT
THE STRUCTURE ONLY NEEDED TO BE SECURED
AND NOT DEMOLISHED. THE SPECIAL
MAGISTRATE FOUND THAT PROPER NOTICE OF
THE VIOLATION HAD BEEN PROVIDED TO THE
RESPONDENTS, THAT THE RESPONDENTS HAD
BEEN GIVEN A REASONABLE TIME TO CORRECT
THE VIOLATION, THAT THE VIOLATION
CONTINUED BEYOND THE TIME SPECIFIED FOR
CORRECTION, AND THAT PROPER NOTICE OF
THE HEARING WAS PROVIDED TO THE
RESPONDENTS. THE SPECIAL MAGISTRATE
FOUND THAT BY FAILING TO APPEAR AT THE

ENTIRE HOME IS FULL OF TRASH, FURNITURE,
AND CLOTHES. THERE ARE SIGNS OF WATER
LEAKS IN THE CEILING BUT NO MAJOR DAMAGE
HAS HAPPENED YET. IF THE ROOF IS NOT
REPAIRED SOON THERE WILL BE DAMAGE TO
THE CEILING AND SHEATHING ALSO. AT THIS
POINT A GOOD CLEANING, PAINT, AND NEW
WINDOWS AND A ROOF WILL PUT THE HOME IN
GOOD CONDITION.
