ONLY ONE WEEK, CALLED COMPLAINING THAT
THERE IS MILDEW UNDER KITCHEN SINK. I
RESPONDED TO THE CALL ABOUT AN HOUR AND
A HALF LATER. I FOUND THE MILDEW ON THE
BACK WALL UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK PLUS A
LEAKING DRAIN ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE
SINK, A LARGE HOLE WHERE THE RECEPTACLE
FOR THE RANGE PLUG WIRE COMES THROUGH
THE WALL, THE REFRIGERATOR RECEPTACLE
COVER PLATE IS MISSING, THE LIVING ROOM
WINDOW IS SCREWED SHUT, AND SEVERAL
SCREENS ARE MISSING. THE TENANT ALSO
COMPLAINED ABOUT RATS IN THE APARTMENT.
I CALLED THE OWNER OF THE BUILDING AND
EXPLAINED THAT THERE WERE SOME THINGS
THAT DID NOT MEET MINIMUM HOUSING
STANDARDS, AND THAT THESE PROBLEMS WOULD
HAVE TO BE REPAIRED. SHE SAID AS SOON AS
THE TENANTS MOVED OUT, SHE WOULD RESOLVE
THE ISSUES BROUGHT TO HER ATTENTION. I
INFORMED THE OWNER THAT NO ONE SHOULD
LIVE IN THE UNIT AFTER NEW TENANTS LEAVE
UNTIL THE UNIT IS REPAIRED.
